Rummagist is an independent culture publication; a new site about weird old stuff. Film and TV, videogames, art, fashion: if you can find it in an op-shop bargain bin, we want to talk about it.

Rummagist acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands on which it is published, the Wurundjeri and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation, and pays its respects to Elders past and present. Sovereignty was never ceded.

Like an offbeat secondhand store, Rummagist places new film reviews and local arts news alongside long-forgotten DVDs, old iPod playlists and movie tie-in Macca's toys. We dig past the detritus of the 24-hour news cycle superficial hot take economy to bring you irreverent, intriguing and informative culture writing.

Rummagist's founding editor, Agnes Forrester, is a writer and comedian based in Narrm/Melbourne. You can find her regularly on BlueSky and much less regularly on Instagram. She was op-shopping before it was cool.
