Welcome to Rummagist
A brand new site about weird old stuff.

Film and TV, videogames, art, fashion: if you can find it in an op-shop bargain bin, we want to talk about it.
Like an offbeat secondhand store, Rummagist places new film reviews and local arts news alongside long-forgotten DVDs, old iPod playlists and movie tie-in Macca's toys. We push past the detritus of the 24-hour-news-cycle-superficial-hot-take economy to bring you irreverent, intriguing and informative culture writing. Art doesn't have a shelf-life: neither should the discussion around it.
Rummagist is about embracing the jumble of cultural history, gently sorting the diamonds from the cubic zirconias and finding the joy in both. We're just as interested in vintage pieces as shiny new releases. It doesn't have to be expensive to see a movie, play a videogame or try a new fashion trend. Sometimes you just have to dig a little—and we're here to do exactly that.
Rummagist's editor, Agnes Forrester, is a writer and comedian based in Narrm/Melbourne. You can find her regularly on BlueSky and much less regularly on Instagram. She was op-shopping before it was cool.
